black cherry teeth
This wooden bowl is from a local cherry tree that had to be taken down because of its age. Rough-turned while it was still green (wet), then put up to dry for 5 months. Re-turned to its final thin shape. Off the lathe, I hand-carved the exterior shapes which remind me of a mouthful of teeth (:
Finished with milkpaint, walnut oil, and food-safe wax.
Dimensions (approx.):
Ø: 5” (12.5 cm)
H: 5” (12.5 cm)
