This bowl was crafted from an piece of exotic Central American-grown cocobolo tree. The provenance is unclear, but may once have been part of a railroad tie that aided in the construction of the Panama Canal.
Incredibly dense, oily and wonderful to work, it needed no finish to show off its figuring. It almost glows.
